Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Dropout ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our service, dropout.so (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you use the Service, you may provide us with your email address, name, and the course materials you upload or link — including notes, PDFs, slides, lecture recordings, YouTube videos, syllabi, and the topics you ask us to explain. We process this content solely to generate the explanations, analogies, animations, and videos you request.

Information collected automatically

We collect limited usage data — such as pages viewed, device type, and browser — to keep the Service running and improve it over time.

2. How we use your information

  • To generate and personalise explanations, analogies, and videos based on the course materials you provide.
  • To tailor pacing and examples to what you already understand.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • To communicate with you about updates, features, or support.
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent misuse.

We do not sell your personal information. Your uploaded course materials are used only to generate content for you — never to train models for other users, and never for advertising.

3. How we store your content

Content you upload is stored securely, treated as confidential, and used only to deliver the Service to you. We retain it for as long as your account is active, and you may delete it at any time. When you delete content, we remove it from our active systems and follow up to remove backups on a reasonable schedule.

4. Sharing

We share your information only with trusted service providers who help us operate the Service (such as hosting and AI infrastructure), and only to the extent needed to provide those services. We may disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.

5. Your choices

  • You may access, correct, or delete your account information and course materials at any time.
  • You may opt out of marketing emails at any time.
  • You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

If you are a student, you are responsible for complying with your institution's policies on AI-assisted learning and on submitting work that is not your own. If you upload materials that belong to your institution, you confirm that you are permitted to do so.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including your course materials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised policy.
